CareNet is currently running several projects including outreach work and youth diversionary activities with Metropolitan Police, Organising cultural dance music dance, and story telling activities for young girls between the ages of 14-18 years old every Saturday since January 2009.
Every Wednesday Somali outreach workers from Southside partnership Fanon provide housing advice, Thursday’s youth sexual health education with Dr Dahirou from Shaka Service. Everyday minimum of 10 people are supported including those enquiries concerned housing issues, welfare benefits, reaching people in hospital, people with mental health difficulties, those who are housebound or have restricted mobility, old people, those who want to register with GP, Social services, to make appointment with hospital and GP, provide information in mother tongue in 5 different languages.
Interpreting in hospitals and GP, Regularly print many publications in community languages such as how to keep warm in the winter for old people, Understanding mental health in Somali language, Understanding Diabetes, Understanding Autism, Domestic violence information in four languages, Drug education for parents, and guide for service provides including how to better treat people with mental health.
