The purpose of alcohol education training is to build the capacity and skills and knowledge of community organisations to have the skills and knowledge in alcohol education and intervention. Effective alcohol misuse and alcohol dependence intervention requires community organisation to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to understand the social and health effect on individual and wider community by:
DEVELOP ORGANISATION WORKFORCE CAPABILITY IN ALCOHOL EDUCATION, INFORMATION ABOUT AVAILABILITY OF SCREENING AND BRIEF INTERVENTION
DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION PREVENTION PROJECTS IN SKILLS TRAINING, COMMUNICATION COURSE, ALCOHOL MISUSE EDUCATION AND INTERVENTION WORKPLAN, TRAINING NEEDS OF ORGANISATION, RECRUITMENT, PEER EDUCATION NETWORK DEVELOPMENT AND COLLABORATION WITH OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS.
Outcome
Enabled individuals to find out about and use services and facilities
Supported individuals who are substance users
Plan and agreed service responses which meet individuals’ identified needs and circumstances.
Help individuals address their substance use through an action plan
Counsel groups of individuals about their substance use using recognised.
To increase knowledge of alcohol and its effects.
Community groups and organisations assisted through training and advice
To increase knowledge of alcohol and its effects.
To explore feelings around adults drinking alcohol.
To teach health and safety awareness of alcohol.
To raise the awareness of the existence of the issues experienced by and needs of young people in families affected by alcohol or other drug use.
To improve access to information and resources by alcohol and other drug, family support, mental health and youth sectors on the issues surrounding young people in families affected by alcohol and other drug use, and their families.
