Dialogue Facilitation Training


Course Title: Dialogue Facilitation

Duration: Two full Days - 9.30am to 4.30pm

Course Outline
A two-day course has been designed to support Drug Alcohol treatment agencies to develop innovative approaches based on a realistic picture of what is actually needed as well as what does and does not work when engaging with local communities. To introduce participants to precisely how best to plan, facilitate and evaluate successful Dialogue Facilitation.


Aims

Train key policy and decision makers and communities of interest in the principles as well as techniques in dialogue as a means to better and more effectively engage with stakeholder communities.


Learning Objectives
DAY ONE
Explore the potential of community dialogue in relation to drug policy theory and practice
Explore dialogue and cultural competence in relation to engaging communities
To introduce basic dialogue facilitation skills and competencies

DAY TWO
Complete basic dialogue facilitation exercises
Explore the role of dialogue in setting local priorities
Developing an action/implementation plan
Defining and measuring success through effective monitoring and evaluation


Danos units
AA3 Support individuals to access and use services and facilities
AA4 Promote the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals
AA6 Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals
AC1 Reflect on and develop your practice


Format
We will be using group discussions, group work, taught sessions and case studies to ensure participants maximise their opportunity for learning.
